The Future of Delish

June 5, 2008 – Jason Harwig

I wanted to let everyone know my plans for Delish. I work on Delish in my spare time. I have a full time job, so that means nights and weekends. The beta has been free thus far, mainly so that I can work out any issues in the screenshot and del.icio.us integration code. My intentionis to charge for the 1.0 version.

The current version in beta expires Sunday, June 8 (soon). I will release one more beta version before then without any limit, and shortly thereafter the (non-free) 1.0 version.

I’ve been diligently working on the final 1.0 version of Delish ever since I first released the beta. I’ve gotten many feature requests and hope to satisfy a portion of them for the release, including: Quick Look, Cover Flow, Smart Bundles, and improved searching. The next most asked for feature is tag management, which I’m planning for 1.5.

My apologies if I haven’t returned your email, but I have noted any suggestions and will try to work through them all at some point.

If you’re a programmer living in the area, come to the inaugural Northern Virginia cocoaheads meeting next Thursday, June 12. More info at cocoaheads.org. I’ll be speaking on WebKit Programming in Cocoa.
